
RC327 – Energy Storage Systems

Prerequisite: RC200
This online, instructor-led course provides students with applied knowledge and practical skills in energy storage systems, aligned with the NABCEP Energy Storage Installation Professional (ESIP) certification. The course follows the NABCEP Job Task Analysis, preparing students for real-world industry applications through hands-on design, planning, and evaluation of modern energy storage technologies.
Course content is structured around five key domains:
- Development – Identifying project goals, site needs, and system feasibility.
- Design – Performing load analysis, system sizing, and equipment selection.
- Installation – Understanding integration, safety standards, and best practices.
- Commissioning – Testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification.
- Operations, Maintenance, and Decommissioning – Managing system performance, safety, and end-of-life planning.
This 3-credit course is part of the Sustainable Energy Technology diploma program and the Alternative Energy micro-credential.
