
Learn how to trim your horses hooves and maintain proper hoof management. This course offers classroom learning and hands-on practice. Start with
Horse Hoof Trimming, and then take
Horse Shoeing.

Topics include:
- anatomy of the hoof and leg
- physiology and movement of the hoof and leg
- diseases and deformities
- trimming and balancing a hoof
- hands-on practice with cadaver hooves
- by the end of the course you will be working on horses
All farrier tools are provided. Please remove all jewelry and tie back long hair. You have the opportunity to work on live horses on the Sunday and you have the option to bring your own horse if you would like to. We need 3-5 horses per course. Horse boarding is available, please contact Adelle below if you plan to bring a horse.

- pen and paper
- gloves
- farrier tools if you have them
- bibs or coveralls (farrier chaps if you have them)
- steel toe boots highly recommended (please disinfect before coming on campus)
- water bottle
