This operations-level course prepares emergency responders to conduct safe, effective rescues in confined environments with a focus on respiratory protection, patient care, and rescue equipment handling. Participants will learn essential techniques including the application and management of SCBA for rescue entrants, rapid application of respirators to victims, patient packaging, and extraction using low-profile patient packaging equipment and anchor systems in both horizontal and vertical confined spaces. Emphasis is placed on atmospheric monitoring, hazard mitigation, continuous communication, and adherence to NFPA standards to ensure both rescuer and victim safety in high-risk scenarios.
