Topics include: how to call loads from production and sales tanks, starting up and shutting down a well, fuel gas, pigging, hydrates, valves, piping and fittings, gas compression (theory, screw compressors, reciprocating compressor), glycol dehydration, dry desiccant dehydration, oilfield safety, isolation of mechanical and electrical equipment, hazard identification and reporting, plant fire protection & fire extinguishers, and cold weather operations.
- Be sure you know your start date as you aren’t able to access your course until then.
- You will have 4 months to complete this course.

Proctored exams:
You will require a proctor for the midterm and final examinations. More details and forms will be available through the online course. Your proctor must be approved before the exams. Please allow at least 5 business days for proctor confirmation and exam set up.
You will be using the Lakeland College learning management system (LMS), Desire2Learn, for this course.
This course includes online lectures, quizzes & tests. A proctor is required for the midterm and final examinations.
High speed internet is recommended. Firefox or Chrome browsers are recommended for the best user experience.
You should:
- have access to a computer and high speed internet
- have computer and web skills in order to do course work
- read and write in English as all of our courses are conducted in English
- be prepared to submit course work and complete exams within the timelines provided
