
This awareness-level course in confined space rescue introduces essential protocols and procedures for identifying and mitigating risks in confined space incidents. Participants will learn to isolate hazards, manage scene control, and perform basic nonentry rescues. Key skills covered include hazard recognition, communication with victims, and operational support techniques. Through scenario-based training, students will practice initiating search operations outside the confined space, establishing scene control, and gathering critical incident information to support response efforts. This course provides the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to safely assist in confined space rescue situations, ensuring safety for rescuers, victims, and bystanders.
Prerequisites: EMR, Advanced First Aid (St. John’s or Red Cross), or an equivalent certification.
