ClassGraphic In this course, students will prepare to pass the ERS v15 exam, the second of 3 requirements in becoming a 3rd party, NRCan Certified Energy Advisor. Students will learn to develop numeracy and the ability to perform simple measurement, geometry and area calculations;  
Students will also develop comfort with imperial and metric unit conversion in addition to conducting residential plan evaluation and geometry calculations. Students will download and learn how to create Hot2000 residential energy efficiency files in addition to developing a more thorough understanding of residential construction components and their impact on energy performance. Students will be introduced to NRCan energy advisor technical procedures, data sheets and onsite data collection requirements to meet the ERS standard. Students will be introduced to file standard requirements currently utilized for building permit submissions and the Federal green home retrofit initiative. Prerequisite: QNRG 230 Energy Advisor Foundation Level 1 course.

Energy Rating System (ERS) Technical Standards
OnsiteBEM application: Building permit submissions, green retrofit programs
