CourseGraphic Join us in our welding lab for a weekend and learn the basics of welding! We will be focus on the process of GMAW (MIG) welding. GMAW helps develop the necessary hand skills as well the technical skills required to move on to the other processes we will be covering SMAW (STICK) welding. Welding knowledge will be discussed in a casual manner in the lab so feel free to bring a Notebook for notes. We will cover welding on mild steel both thick and thin. You will be taught how to weld in multiple positions including: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical. Come burn some metal!

This is a general interest course for students who are interested in learning the basic techniques of MIG/ARC Welding or enhancing existing skills.  NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

Please read:  Note: Students are required to bring steel-toed work boots. Bring your own gloves, safety glasses, helmets, beanies, pliers, and coveralls if you have them. Otherwise, Lakeland College can supply.
